Providing Direct Push Soil Sampling using a GeoProbe® for Leaking Underground Storage Tank Sites, Property Audits and Remediation Projects
Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) and Environmental Contamination Sites
EMES' GeoProbe® can be utilized for investigations related to sites of environmental contamination covered under Part 201 and Part 213 of Michigan's Natural Resources and Enviromental Protection Act. The GeoProbe® can be used as an investigative tool to evaluate the lateral and vertical extent of a contaminant release to the soil and/or groundwater. Micro wells may also be installed to evaluate groundwater flow direction and hydraulic gradient. The information gathered using the EMES GeoProbe® can provide a long range cost savings by maximizing the placement of permanent monitoring wells in addition to decreasing the total number of wells.
EMES' GeoProbe® is a hydraulically powered, percussion/probing
machine designed specifically for use in the Environmental Industry.
Our GeoProbe® can perform continuous and discrete soil sampling and is
track mounted which provides easy access to sites.
Contaminant Definition
The GeoProbe® uses the direct push sampling technique which is a more
cost effective and less intrusive method then conventional auger drilling
to evaluate/define the full extent of contaminants in the soil and/or
groundwater.
Well Installation
EMES' GeoProbe® can be used for the installation of temporary and
permanent wells and piezometers (up to one-inch diameter).
Site Remediation
EMES' GeoProbe® can be used for the installation of soil vapor
extraction and air sparge points. Our GeoProbe® also has the capability
to be used for soil gas sampling and remediation injection (Oxygen
Releasing Compound or equivalent).
Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
EMES' GeoProbe® can be utilized as a cost effective approach in
conducting soil and/or groundwater sampling to evaluate Recognized
Environmental Concerns (RECs) for Phase II Environmental Site
Assessments (ESA), audits, and impact studies. Also, soil gas wells can
be installed and sampled to perform vapor encroachment screening in
conformance with ASTM E 2600-10 Standard Guide for Vapor Encroachment Screening on Property Involved in Real Estate Transactions.
Baseline Environmental Assessments
EMES' GeoProbe® can be utilized for property transfer
environmental assessments. The primary focus of these studies is to
identify the likelihood for existing site contamination or environmental
liabilities.
Waste Disposal
Use of the GeoProbe® minimizes waste disposal costs as compared to
conventional drilling methods.
