Aboveground and Underground Storage Tank (UST) Services

EMES provides clients with professional consulting and contracting to fulfill their needs associated with leaking underground and aboveground storage tank systems.  These services include investigation, feasibility studies, free phase petroleum product removal, remediation of petroleum contaminated soils and groundwater, and preparation of reports for submittal to the DNRE.

Workers, Underground and Above ground storage tanks Investigative capabilities and the integrity of the data that is produced are very important in addressing today's complex environmental problems.  EMES' project integrative approach requires that any investigation be performed in a structured and purposeful manner.  EMES develops a scope of work tailored to a site's specific conditions and systematically formulates informed responses to regulatory inquiries.  EMES has experience in conducting Preliminary Site Assessments (PA) and Remedial Investigations (RI) for a wide range of clients with many different needs. EMES uses a multidisciplinary team to design and implement PAs and RIs on a site specific basis. Complete documentation - including work plans, quality assurance plans, health and safety plans, and community relations plans are developed to meet regulatory requirements. When necessary, EMES staff works with regulatory personnel to keep the investigation process moving smoothly.

Vac Truck Services

VacTruck EMES Vac Services’ Dominator® Vacuum Loader provides Multi-Phase Recovery (MPR).  MPR application is an economical and efficient choice for the extraction of impacted vapors, free phase hydrocarbons, and dissolved phase hydrocarbons.  MPR can be used in the remediation of soil and groundwater at Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) sites.  During extraction, a maximum flow rate of 880 CFM and 27 in. Hg of vacuum can be created yielding up to 150 foot radius or more zone of influence.  Air Sparging can also be employed to remove dissolved phase hydrocarbons with very little capital costs.  This would include the installation of sparge points that can be used simultaneously with MPR to strip hydrocarbons from the dissolved phase.   EMES can aide in the design and planning for additional monitoring wells, soil vapor extraction wells, and air sparge points.  If you choose, EMES can even install them for you as well.

GeoProbe®Services

GeoProbe EMES's GeoProbe® provides a cost effective/ minimally intrusive approach for enviromental investigations.  The GeoProbe® is particularly useful as an inital screening method in site investigations prior to the placement of permanent monitoring wells, or as an investigation method to confirm the presence/absence of contamination on previously developed sites.

EMES' GeoProbe® has been used as an investigation tool on numerous LUST and enviromental audit sites.  Additionally, the GeoProbe® can be used to assist in site remediation.  This would include the installation of air sparge and vapor/multi-phase liquid extraction points.
